Russian born Israeli pianist ROMAN ZASLAVSKY
is recognized by international audiences,
critics and colleagues alike as one of the
next generation’s foremost emerging artists.
The Scottish "Herald" was impressed by his
performance calling it "...A touch of

a sensation”, the British press praised him
also in the “Strad” magazine, saying that
Mr. Zaslavsky is “… a pianist with
exceptional virtuosity”, the Canadian
“Toronto Star” wrote that his performance
was “marvelous”, German “Badische Neueste
Nachrichten” exclaimed that he is “…a
virtuoso keyboard lion”
Roman Zaslavsky has the reputation of being
a musician with a highly intellectual
approach and passionate interpretation. His
performances on international stages include
among many others the Laeiszhalle Hamburg,
Recital Hall of the Amsterdam Concertgebouw,
the Palau de la Musica in Madrid, Barcelona
and Valencia, the Salle Gaveau in Paris and
the Tel-Aviv Museum of Arts, all garnering
excellent press and audience reviews.
Mr. Zaslavsky’s highlights in 07/08 and
beyond include, among others, a last minute
replacement of pianist Nelson Freire,
performances of Rachmaninov’s concerto No. 2
in Brescia with the Budapest Radio Symphony
Orchestra under Laszlo Kovacs and in Genova,
Italy under Mikhaïl Jurowski, Beethoven’s
concerto No. 5 in Saarbrücken, Germany with
the State Symphony Orchestra of Saarland
under Constantin Trinks, concerts with the
Scottish National Symphony under Alexander
Lazarev, and tours with the Tonkünstler
under Mikhaïl Jurowski and with the
Hungarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra
under Laszlo Kovacs. He gives solo recitals
in Moscow and Tel Aviv, and duo recitals
with cellist Gavriel Lipkind in Hamburg
Musikhalle, Frankfurt’s Hessischer Rundfunk,
and on tour in Holland and Japan.
Mr. Zaslavsky is a prizewinner of numerous
international competitions, among others the
"Citta di Senigallia International Piano
Competition", the "Hamamatsu Academy
International Piano Competition", the "Vendome
Prize" in Cologne, the Premier Gran Premio
in the "Jose Iturbi International Piano
Competition" in Valencia, and several
renowned chamber music competitions together
with Gavriel Lipkind.
Roman Zaslavsky was born in St. Petersburg,
Russia, where he also attended the St.
Petersburg Conservatory. Following further
studies at the Rubin Academy of Music in Tel
Aviv, and the Musikhochschulen in Frankfurt
and Karlsruhe, he currently resides in
Germany.
